Sometimes in transit, the TKO's or the TKX's synchronizers will shift and become lodged, locking up the input shaft. Ben DeHaven, Silver Sport Transmissions' Tech Guru, is here to tell you how to easily correct this condition.GO
One of the biggest misconceptions regarding the TREMEC TKO 5-Speed on the forums is having trouble going from 2nd to 3rd. The shifting characteristics of the TKO are different than say a Muncie, Ford Toploader or Mopar A833. When you shift the older 4-speeds, you would go over and up to 3rd gear or just shove it over if you were really beating on it. With the TREMEC TKO, you want to go straight forward with an open palm. The SST shifter mechanism will help guide you right into gear!GO
In our other 2-3 shift video, we explained how people miss the shift and why while showing you the inside of the transmission and the shift rails. This time, we took a Camaro out for a spin and demonstrated the 2-3 shift in real world conditions.GO
No matter what kind of factory transmission tunnel hump from Silver Sport Transmissions you are trying to install, these simple to follow instructions will get everything centered up!GO
William demonstrates how to flip the shifter on a TREMEC TKO 5-Speed or Magnum 6-Speed. The TREMEC TKO and Magnum come with two shifter positions right out of the box, but if you need a different shifter position, you should call Silver Sport Transmissions. We have a multitude of shifter locations to choose from.GO
Shane and William with Silver Sport Transmissions demonstrate the easiest bellhousing dial-in method. This is required for all TREMEC transmissions in order to validate any warranty claims. Failure to dial indicate the bellhousing could lead to driveline vibrations and even transmission failure.GO
